Presbyterians affirm that God comes to us with grace and love in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose for us so that we might have eternal and abundant life in him. As Christ’s disciples, called to ministry in his name, we seek to continue his mission of teaching the truth, feeding the hungry, healing the broken, and welcoming strangers. God sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, giving us the energy, intelligence, imagination, and love to be Christ’s faithful disciples in the world.

First Presbyterian Church of Baraboo takes seriously our calling to be a light in our community and our world. We support many local missions including Hope House, Habitat for Humanity, St Vincents, People Helping People and the Mission Gatherers. We also support missions of the PCUSA denomination which cover a broader area. These missions include Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Ruth Brown and Presbyterian Missionaries, and PresHouse.
Find out more about these missions and others on our Community and Missions page.
If you’re considering membership, please email us. Membership classes consist of two sessions after church led by Pastor Lisa, and then people may join either with a letter of transfer from a previous congregation, or by answering several simple questions during church. Pastor Lisa is always happy to speak with anyone about membership, and welcomes full participation in the life of the church from both members and friends of First Presbyterian Church.
